Sail and Power Boating — District 27 . . . "America's Boating Club"

New River Sail & Power Squadron serves the recreational boating community in Onslow and Pender counties in southeastern North Carolina. Based in Jacksonville, membership covers areas including Swansboro, Sneads Ferry, Topsail Island, Surf

City, and Holly Ridge in Onslow County; and Hampstead in Pender County. Membership also includes members residing aboard Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base, and the New River Air Station.

A non-profit organization, New River Sail & Power Squadron is dedicated to educating boaters on safe boating procedures, raising awareness of clean water and water safety issues, and offering free vessel safety checks to area boaters.

While serious about its obligations to provide boating education opportunities for the community, there's always time for members to enjoy the social and organizational aspects of membership, through

  • rendezvous with other US Power Squadron

  • cook-outs and picnics
  • dinner meetings
  • attendance at district and state conferences
  • recognition awards
  • community service projects
  • community issues as they apply to water recreation and safety
  • locating geodetic markers to assist the Department of Transportation
  • co-op charting cruises
